Terrell Sessums, Esq. – Of Counsel
Terrell Sessums, Esq., former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, Chairman of the Florida Board of Regents and Chairman of both the Florida and Greater Tampa Chambers of Commerce, is now Of Counsel to the Furth, Salem, Mason & Li, LLP.
Mr. Sessums focuses his years of legal experience on assisting the firm’s clients with their business services and governmental advocacy needs. Mr. Sessums, a former chairman of The Committee of 100, served on the boards of several of the state’s colleges and universities, civic organizations and corporations, including Blue Cross of Florida, GTE Florida, and The Florida Council of 100.
He also served as special counsel to the U.S. Senate and as a member of the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission of Florida. His many years of service in the Legislature, the Florida Bar, and the community have earned him numerous honorary degrees and awards. Mr. Sessums continues to be active in a number of community organizations, and is AV rated in the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory.
Upon receiving his B.A. Degree from the University of Florida in 1952, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and subsequently served in both Europe and Africa. After completing his tour of duty as a Captain; he returned to the University of Florida where he earned his law degree in 1958, and entered practice here in Tampa. Neva, his wife of 55 years was a former Public School teacher, but she passed away in 2013. They are the parents of three
children and grandparents of five.
